EPRM fulfils an important role in information-sharing and learning, both along the supply chain and across different sectors using 3TG. Large downstream companies rely on the entire chain to meet their responsibility; they can play an important role in educating and supporting their SME suppliers. If you would like to share knowledge and cooperate with companies, NGOs, governments and trade associations on responsible sourcing from CAHRAs, EPRM membership is the platform for you. EPRM provides opportunities to share best practices, to jointly tackle problems and to develop real solutions. Through EPRM, you can join forces with supply chain actors and other categories of stakeholders in the supply chains to enable responsible mineral sourcing and contribute to local development in mining areas. In addition, EPRM provides an excellent way to support the implementation of the OECD Due Diligence Guidance in Europe itself. This includes backing up the European Commission’s proposed legislation with action by both public and private actors. EU Commission, Parliament and Member States have noted the need for such initiatives. However, progress at the EU is not a precondition for the development of EPRM, which has a worldwide scope.
